Aleksandr Leonov

Aleksandr Petrovich Leonov (1932/Moscow) - artist.

His father was Chief Artist of the Dulevo Porcelain Factory and a suprematist artist. 1948 - the family moved to Leningrad.
1955 - graduated from Leningrad Secondary Arts School (SKhSh) and entered the Faculty of Painting Institute of Art Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.Ye.Repin (InZhSA).1957 - expelled because of formalism. Worked in the Research Institute of Intensive Geology making thin rock sections for atlas textures and sedimentary rock structures. Dealt with industrial graphics. One of the most active non-conformists in 1970.
1976 - emigrated to France. Lives in Paris.
